Stage

Choreographer. Dancer. Show runner.

I dance. Mostly choreography for years, and lately locking and breaking. At MIT I was artistic director on multiple dance teams and organized some of the largest performances on campus. The most competitive team on campus rejected me three times as a complete beginner. I danced on other teams the whole time, worked every note of feedback, got in, and later ran it as president.

The engineering and the music came together on stage. My Master of Science in Music Technology at MIT was about instruments that let a dancer drive the music instead of the other way round, and the thesis ended in a live show.

Instruments

  • Encypher, a music system for dance cyphers: a camera reads how the whole circle is moving, and a live AI music model plays back what the room is doing.
  • Con Moto, where a dancer's movement steers a music transformer in real time. MIT thesis work with Heidi Lei, NIME 2026.
  • Be the Beat, an AI boombox that finds music to match a dancer's freestyle. NeurIPS 2024 Creative AI track, TEI 2025, Gwangju Design Biennale.
  • Abyss Vivace, an infinity mirror electric guitar built to be played live.

Running

Four years of stage management, show ops and artistic direction on campus shows. That work is why I now build Stage Intelligence, AI tools for the people who run live production.
